Why Teacher Training in Africa
and Early Childhood Development ? |

The Wisest Investment and “More Bang for the Buck” |

To walk through a rural village in West Africa is to be confronted with the conundrum of poverty and the spirit of hope that inspires change. The universe of development work is a long list of needs such as food security, healthcare, water and sanitation, peace and security, good governance, education and much more. It is our experience that a non governmental organization cannot be all things for all people and that infusion of cash is not always the wisest investment. Often, resources quite literally destabilize a community. |

Experts argue that a coordinated top down reform that involved a consortium of government, the private sector and billions of dollars is the answer to ending poverty. The reality of development assistance today is anyone helps anyway they can.

We have chosen a defined service model. To provide a qualitative service is like the professor who pedals into a village and offers to train teachers to become teacher trainers while he repeats and evolves the training to assure continued quality in the classroom. It is the allegory of stone soup with a sustainable system and work process but money is never exchanged. |
